Welcome To Myrtle Corner

I feel strangely moved, bordering on excited as I set out this blog. I have just joined The out on a limb project via my friend Jensen and have been to the first meeting. The main idea behind the project is to bring people together to visit across The Wirral and to record a diary of their meanderings. The name Wirral occurs in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle as Wirheal, literally “myrtle-corner”, from the Anglo-Saxon wir, a myrtle tree, and heal , an angle, corner or slope. (Wirral Heritage)

Here is my diary. Secondly but perhaps as important is the brief to write stories of about 1,000 words which have some input from the places visited and also the people within the project. Connections 9 May 2010
I was born on The Wirral at 3 Yelverton Road in Higher Tranmere and am very much looking forward to this exploration.
